AI Ethics & Transparency Statement
Last Updated: December 2025
At Wedey, we believe that Artificial Intelligence should not replace human judgment but empower it. Our mission is to provide an industrial-scale force for recruitment while maintaining the highest ethical standards of fairness, transparency, and data privacy.
1Our Commitment to Fairness (The "Bias Detector")
Recruitment is historically prone to human unconscious bias. Wedey is designed to mitigate these biases:
- Neutral Analysis: Our AI focuses strictly on skills, experience, and behavioral markers relevant to the job, ignoring demographic data such as race, gender, or age.
- Bias Detection Tool: The "Wedey Bias Detector" scans job descriptions and evaluation criteria to identify and help correct biased language before an offer is even published.
- Objective Ranking: The "Top 1%" ranking is based on objective data points collected through technical challenges and structured AI interviews, ensuring every candidate is measured by the same yardstick.
2Transparency and Explainability
We reject "Black Box" AI. Transparency is a core pillar of our technology:
- The Match Score: Our "Global Match Score" is explainable. We provide recruiters with a summary of the strengths and weaknesses that lead to a specific score, so the reasoning is never a mystery.
- Informing Candidates: Every candidate is clearly informed when they are interacting with our AI assistant, ARIA, or when their profile is being evaluated by an algorithm.
- Auditability: We regularly audit our algorithms to ensure that the AI's predictive performance is aligned with real-world hiring success without creating disparate impacts.
3Human-in-the-Loop Principle
Wedey follows the "Human-in-the-Loop" requirement set by the GDPR and the EU AI Act:
- Decision Support: Our AI provides recommendations and rankings, but the final decision to hire, reject, or advance a candidate remains 100% in the hands of the human recruiter.
- Right to Review: Any candidate has the right to request a human review of their AI-generated assessment if they believe the result is inaccurate.
4Data Privacy and Biometric Security
Processing video and voice data via ARIA requires maximum security and clear consent:
- Explicit Consent: We never analyze a candidate's voice or facial expressions without their prior, explicit, and informed consent.
- Secure Talent Pool: For candidates who opt-in to the Wedey Talent Network, biometric-derived insights (such as Soft Skills scores) and interview highlights are stored securely.
- EU-Based Infrastructure: All candidate data is hosted on highly secure servers (AWS) within the European Union (Frankfurt/Dublin region) to ensure full GDPR compliance.
5Continuous Improvement and Responsibility
We are committed to the long-term safety of our AI:
- Anonymized Learning: We use anonymized and aggregated data to retrain our models, ensuring that no individual can be identified during the improvement process.
- Regulatory Watch: We actively monitor international AI regulations (including the Colorado AI Act and EU AI Act) to ensure Wedey remains at the forefront of legal compliance.
